HTC is counting on the cheaper One mini 2 version which might increase the sales
The month of May might not be the happiest months of all for HTC as it brings a rather disappointing news for the smartphone company. During this month, the Taiwanese manufacturer suffered a dip in sales even though they had been experiencing growth in previous months of March and April. HTC had been facing a downward trend in sales but when the HTC One M8 was released with such a bang, we all thought that this trend would reverse.

The company's revenue dropped 27.37% compared to last year and 4.59% from April. This decline in sales had nothing to do with the quality of the phones which the company is producing because we all know that the One M8 was appreciated by the customers and it widely received positive reviews. Despite all this success, the company still couldn’t catch a break. The recent acquisition of Beats by Apple is another stinging bee in HTC’s pile of things to worry about. Just prior to Apple’s acquisition, the company had sold off its share in the headphone company.
The only thing HTC is counting on at the moment is their new cheaper device which might sell off more than the One M8 which is a bit expensive and costs as much as the Samsung Galaxy S5. But this HTC One Mini 2 is not going to be released till the end of this month so it seems like HTC will have to keep going with its downward trend for a while.
