There is a lot of hard work behind Maria Menounos’ perfect slim figure and killer abs and no she is definitely not starving herself. According to her, ‘dieting’ has never been a part of her ab-tastic regimen. The Extra host and author of The Everygirl’s Guide to Diet and Fitness recently appeared on the new issue of Life & Style where she admitted that there hasn’t been a diet which she hasn’t given a try to. She calls them all ‘fads’ which they really are and we know it too. From grapefruit diets to coffee fast, she has given them all a try and figured that they all were useless.

While talking to Life & Style, Maria Menounos said that she was able to melt away 40 pounds in 2000 right after she graduated college. She says “I now don’t even say the word ‘diet.’ It sets you up for failure.” But losing weight once back then was not the only challenge. She had to keep it up and to prevent all those bad pounds from coming back to her, she had to ensure that she took care of her diet as well as her exercise. For that she says she only consumes one bad carb a day and then walks at least 10,000 steps. “I eat clean 75 percent of the time.”
She suggests that a clever way is to keep a log of everything you eat for a week and then you should be able to put a finger on your trouble spot; whether it is the sugar or the carbs. “Slowly cut back on that area,” Maria explains to the Life & Style. “It was carbs for me, but I didn’t totally give up pizza! I just ate less of it.”
