Nintendo's run is over. For the first time in 8 years, Sony sold more consoles in the last fiscal year. Sony sold 18.7 consoles in the year ending March and Nintendo has sold 16.3m according to Nikkei. Sony landed a big hit with the Sony PS4. Both Microsoft and Nintendo have botched their launch of the new generations of consoles.

Sony will likely stay in the lead as the Sony PS4 has the bigger momentum, but maybe Microsoft and Nintendo will surprise with something that can stop the Sony PS4 at the E3 2014.
