The X-Factor Judge Also OK if His Son Wants to Sing

Simon Cowell has said Cheryl Cole will be feeling the heat in the new series of The X Factor.

The Crazy Stupid Love singer is returning to the panel of the UK talent show after she quit to appear on the American version in 2011 - only to be sacked after a week.

Simon is also returning to the judging panel on the ITV show this year, as part of a shake up to tackle flagging ratings.

He told the Sunday People: "Of course the pressure is going to be on Cheryl this year, coming back after a break. All eyes are going to be on her, but she is ready for it. She's going to be great."

He added: "We're both looking forward to sitting together on the panel again."

She and Simon will be joined by Mel B and Louis Walsh on the show this year.

In other news Simon Cowell also said his son will eventually become the head of his empire.

The 54-year-old has already decided that his four-month-old son, whom he has with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, will follow his career path by taking over his TV and music company Syco when he grows up, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"In all seriousness, he's going to do what I do. In time he's going to inherit my business. That's certainly the plan," The Sun newspaper quoted Cowell as saying.

Simon Cowell will give baby son Eric his blessing if he wants to pursue a music career - but he will tell him if he doesn't have the potential to pursue a career in singing.

The X Factor head said he will be honest about his son's abilities, but will not be as harsh with him as he is with aspiring stars on television.

Simon also said he is "definitely, definitely not" leaving Britian's Got Talent (BGT).

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, he said: "If Eric wants to try out being a singer, I would be okay with that. I certainly won't stop him. But I'll tell him straight if he can't do it. Admittedly, I might not be quite as blunt as I am with some of the contestants."
