Rob Dyrdek is about to open up space for himself at MTV headquarters. MTV’s mother company is Viacom and it has signed a bond with Dyrdek that lends him unlimited time to do his stuff at the youth-oriented entertainment music channel.
“The Viacom-owned cable network has closed a multi-year deal with Dyrdek and his production company, Super Jacket, ensuring an extended stay,” The Hollywood Reporter has reported.
Meanwhile, Dyrdek’s own company Super Jacket will be part of the initiative and enterprise that will take place at MTV. Besides carrying on with his present features, Dyrdek will be introducing a pilot for the choosy channel.
His Fantasy Factory will get to go on air for a seventh season after it was supposedly curtailed after the sixth season. On the other hand, Ridiculousness and Snack-Off are back too.
It seems Rob Dyrdek has all burners on and is burning the midnight oil too in his quest to make a mark in this world. The man began his stint with MTV almost a decade ago with his reality TV series Rob & Big. After this several other ventures were started.
It is clear as the light of day that Rob is part and parcel of what goes on at MTV. And he is a special favorite of the millennial generation.
Rob has a knack of clicking with the audience and so he will always be welcome at MTV. The man is quite popular for his creative abilities both on the screen and off it. He will take the channel very far in the future.
“Rob Dyrdek is an essential part of MTV. From Rob & Big to Fantasy Factory, Ridiculousness and now Snack-Off, Rob has an undeniable appeal to millennials,” said MTV president of programming Susanne Daniels.
“He is a creative force with a unique ability to connect with the audience — whether he is in front of or behind the camera. We are truly thrilled to continue our long and successful relationship with Rob.”
Meanwhile, Rob was thankful to the channel heads for lending him a forum for his talents and creativity. He will be doing all that lies in his power to provide quality entertainment via his shows.
“MTV has a been a great partner over the years. I’m truly grateful for the platform they’ve provided for me to create and refine compelling, entertaining media at the highest level.
“This next chapter will allow myself, Shane Nickerson, and the rest of the Super Jacket team to scale our style of production — inspiring people and making them laugh. We look forward to continually delivering amazing content for years to come,” said Dyrdek.
Dyrdek's MTV shows include The Real World, The Challenge, 16 and Pregant, Teen Mom 2, Snooki and JWoww, Catfish and Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life.
To make the ordinary people smile and guffaw was an ability at which Rob Dyrdek excelled. And so he would be making the most of his talent on the platform.
It was an ideal opportunity to display the limits of human imagination and thought in an artistic form. Rob is a lucky dude since he has the mental flexibility to make lemonade out of lemons.
