This was only her second appearance since giving birth - and her first live appearance on TV since Isabelle was born in April.
The Scandal star stepped out in a floral Dolce & Gabbana dress, white pumps and an emerald clutch on the red carpet before heading into the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.
Celebrity Makeup Artist Pati Dubroff created the gorgeous look on Kerry. She told HollywoodLife.com:
“For Kerry’s look, we decided to keep the makeup very soft and radiant with a slight pop of color on the eye. The Dolce dress she is wearing was fun and bright and colorful with many shades of flowers. We picked a purple shade that was in the dress and added a touch of that to the eyeliner.”
For the skin:
“I enhanced Kerry’s naturally flawless skin by prepping with skin with Neutrogena Visibly Even Moisturizer to even out her skin tone, foundation where needed and added a touch of luminous sheen with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends in Sunkissed."
One fan, who submitted a question via Twitter, asked Washington, "Now that you're a mom will it be bittersweet to go back to work?"
"So tricky, because you know I don't talk about this stuff," Washington began to say.
"But I will say I feel really, really blessed," she continued. "I just feel really blessed that I'm kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life."
Kerry served as a presenter at the annual prize-giving celebrating black entertainment, and was nominated for Best Actress for her work on hit US TV drama Scandal, although 12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong’o took home the prize.
The 37-year-old star, who is known for her amazing fashion sense, didn't disappoint on the red carpet or during the presentations at the 2014 BET.
