The co-founder of Tinder, Justin Mateen was expelled after sexual harassment charges were brought against him.
The vice president of marketing brought sexual harassment charges against him. Whitney Wolfe is the victim of Tinder co-founder Justin Mateen’s overtures. She has also accused the CEO of the company of allowing Mateen to carry on in his unduly frank ways.
The IAC which is doing all the investigation has agreed on the point of order that Tinder co-founder Mateen sent explicit messages to Whitney.
An IAC spokesman said, “Through that process, it has become clear that Mr. Mateen sent private messages to Ms. Wolfe containing inappropriate content.”
But it has tried to let the CEO and the company off the hook in this regard. Wolfe had been dating Mateen. She claims he had said unmentionable words to her, calling her every insult there was in the book of female degradation.
And he had been a bigot and racist as well as homophobic as the messages showed so clearly. Wolfe is definitely out for blood. She said that the two had not given her any credit for being one of the original five members who had founded Tinder.
And furthermore she said that when she demanded her rights, she was given the answer that she was just a girl. Some of the contents of the messages that Mateen sent Wolfe are downright disgusting and dirty.
They show foul language and a disregard for civilized speech. Yet this is the way it had always been. The company’s CEO and Mateen both had been male chauvinist pigs from the beginning.
Tinder is just the latest in a series of lawsuits and troublesome eruptions in the IT and computer tech world’s airwaves. SnapChat faced a similar conundrum a while back. And GitHub and Twitter too have been accused of male machismo.
In a world where the females are being empowered, they will obviously demand their rights with a vengeance. And since feminism is the product of capitalism, it is currently spanning the globe with the revolution in rising expectations among women.
