Most likely stolen

Some where, there's a Fault in Our Stars fan with a very big piece of movie history in his or her backyard. Officials in Amsterdam revealed earlier this week that a bench featured in the teen tearjerker has gone inexplicably missing in the weeks since the film's release in June.

The green bench—where Hazel (Shailene Woodley) and Augustus (Ansel Elgort) shared a romantic kiss—used to sit on the Leidsegracht canal in the Dutch city. In its place now is a large flower pot.

"It's a bit embarrassing, because we do keep good track of them, but it's gone all right," city spokesman Stephan van der Hoek told the Associated Press, noting that fans have been asking about the bench's whereabouts.

There are several suspects in the bench's disappearance, including Fault in Our Stars fans, vandals, and neighbors who may have been fed up with tourist traffic from couples looking to recreate movie magic. (Maps showing FIOS filming locations have recently begun to circulate, and visitors have been inquiring about other significant spots.)

Assuming it's not returned, a new bench will be brought in to the same spot within weeks. As for the old bench? "Keep your eyes on eBay," van der Hoek quipped reports US Weekly.

It seems unlikely that the bench will be returned but we hope the people that stole it feel good about themselves I mean really it is so ridiculous to steel at all but to steal something famous that people may be drawn to see is low.
