Elizabeth Lail and Scott Michael Foster are going to play the roles of Anna and Kristoff in season four of Once Upon a Time. Frozen has really made its way to OUAT.
ABC's Once Upon a Time welcomed Elizabeth Lail and Scott Michael Foster as new cast members. In other words, Once Upon a Time welcomed Oscar-winning film Frozen's characters into its world.
ABC's hit drama has already introduced the character of Queen Elsa of Arendelle at the end of season three. And this time, it’s the turn of the couple: Anna and Kristoff.
"Frozen's Elsa made a shocking appearance in Once Upon a Time's season finale, and since then fans have been clamoring for casting news. While we still don't know who will play Elsa when Once returns for season four, we can confirm two exciting casting updates," stated ABC.
Once Upon a Time executive producer Adam Horowitz made the announcement on Tuesday via his twitter account that newcomer Elizabeth Lail is joining the cast of OUAT as Elsa's younger sister Anna for season four.
The role of Queen Elsa will also remain in season four of OUAT. At the fall premiere of OUAT season four, Elsa's character can make a grand entrance.
"We are dealing with the world of Frozen," executive producer Adam Horowitz told THR in May. "We are honored to be allowed to do it. We loved the movie. We fell in love with it when it came out last year like everyone did, and we want to do our best to do it justice."
Executive producer Edward Kitsis said at the time of OUAT's iteration of Elsa: "[What] we loved so much about the character of Elsa was that she was considered a villain but she never really was. She was misunderstood. That, on our show, speaks to us so strongly, that it was a toy we had to play with."
Scott Michael Foster has also confirmed the news of joining OUAT. He shared a picture of himself on Instagram with Frozen character Kristoff. He captioned the picture: "I'm excited to play kristoff on #OUAT!" See the Instagram below.
Adam Horowitz also confirmed casting Foster as Kristoff for the 4th season of OUAT.
Frozen is an Oscar-winning film by Disney. And in the movie, Kristen Bell voiced Anna while Jonathan Groff voiced Kristoff, whom Anna loved.
TVLine first reported the news. The OUAT character of Anna is said to be "fun-loving, fearless optimist and often gets herself into situations where she is in over her head, yet is able to triumph due to her resourcefulness and can-do spirit. She values her relationship with her sister Elsa above all else."
Kristoff's OUAT character is described as "a hearty, salt-of-the-earth ice cutter whose sometimes-gruff demeanor can hide his deep love for Anna and her sister Elsa."
Elizabeth Lail is represented by ICM Partners and she has already appeared in two short films. Scott Michael Foster has worked in Chasing Life, Zero Hour, Halt and Catch Fire, Californication and The River. He is represented by ICM Partners and Consortium Entertainment.
