The main female character of the novel "is involved in a series of relationships and her looks show that she is treated as a sex object." And Scarlett objected of being portrayed as a "sex object."
Hence, Avengers star filed a book defamation lawsuit against the writer. And now she has won the case. She sued the writer initially for £40,000 (approx. $69,302) in damages for the "fraudulent use of her personal rights".
But Delacourt has said that he wrote the character to pay a tribute to Scarlett's beauty and it was not meant to insult the starlet. He was instead hoping to get a bouquet of flowers from Scarlett. "I was hoping she might send me flowers," Delacourt said.
However, the Paris court in France has rewarded her with only £2,000 ($3,397) and asked the writer to pay her for his "hurtful and demeaning" comments about her in the book.
But this amount is not worth it for Scarlett. And she also asked the court to "stop the novel from being translated or adapted for the big screen." However, the Paris court did not approve of her request.
Scarlett Johansson is a big Hollywood star. She is going to work in a Luc Besson movie. And she is also returning as Black Widow in the new sequel of Avengers. She will ride a new electric Harley Davidson motorcycle in Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
