Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy will work together in Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's next flick "The Revenant".
Tom Hardy will work alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Revenant. After several weeks of speculation, Hardy has officially signed on the dotted line of the contract to work in Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Babel) film. Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio has already been signed on by the director.
The story of the film is based on Michael Punke novel The Revenant: A Novel of Revenge. Alejandro worked on the script for the film adaptation of the novel along with Mark L. Smith (of The Hole fame).
The producers of this film are: Steve Golin, Keith Redmon, David Kanter, Inarritu, Arnon Milchan and James Skotchdopole. Paul Green, Brett Ratner and James Packer are the executive producers.
According to THR, the film "centers on a 19th century fur trapper who is mauled by a grizzly bear and left for dead. But he survives and embarks on a revenge mission against the people who robbed and betrayed him."
RatPac is the co-financer of the film along with The New Regency. The film will go into production in September this year and it is expected to be released in the fall of 2014.
