With the rise of Tesla, there have been a lot of rumors about the company, almost as many as swirl around Apple. The company has made themselves not only a car company, but a tech one as well, something that has people thinking that Apple is going to be purchasing them.
That all started when it was revealed that Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, had met with the mergers and acquisition department at Apple, a move that many people thought pointed to a buyout. Analysts in the market say that this wasn’t the case, though, and Tesla has denied any possible purchase by Apple.
In truth, it is now believed that the meeting was over Apple’s newest feature, CarPlay. This will allow car manufacturers to integrate Apple devices directly into the dashboard, allowing drivers to use various Apps without using their hands. Many car manufacturers have jumped on board with the product, but Tesla might be one of the next. With the focus on electric car technology, it would only make sense that they would be interested in integrating one of the largest tech companies in the world.
We will have to wait until later on in the year for confirmation, though, as CarPlay should begin rolling out in the next few months. There is competition from companies like Google, but Apple hopes to take total control of the market.
