Genie Bouchard is a Canadian tennis ace who was named after one of the royal family members of England by her mother. She defeated Romanian Simona Halep day ago and came closer to winning the championship.
Being the only Canadian woman to have achieved a victorious bout in the Grand Slam, Eugenie, as she is actually called, posted photographs of herself as a youngster.

Genie Bouchard looked to be the ideal girl next door in the pics. Both as a six year old and as a twelve year old, she is shown in her smiling, positive, shiny happy self.
Genie had tons of confidence and simply oozed sparkling life and an unflagging energy from her every pore. And even her older sibling, Beatrice was named after another royal princess like Genie.
Genie was taught the ropes by Nick Saviano in Florida later on in her life. Currently she is ranked as the 13th best female tennis player in the world.
And since she has just thrashed the #3 player, Simona Halep, she is hopping glad and hopeful that she’ll make it to the #1 spot one day. Genie has quite a loyal fan base that regularly heroine-worships her and follows her every move.
There have been various proposals for her hand in marriage by many a lusty lad. She meanwhile has said that she wouldn’t rule out a wedding with someone from among her fans in the future, so they had better keep the requests rolling in on Twitter.
Genie admits that her parents especially her mother was simply crazy about the British royal household after which she named three of her four children. Genie’s brother is named William.
"Maybe it looks like my parents were royal obsessed, it makes me feel a little bit more at home in England among my fellow royals," 20-year-old Genie Bouchard told DailyMail.
"When I was young my Mum gave me a magazine with the two princesses in it and I still keep it on my bedside table, my brother is Prince William. I think they are just nice names that they liked."
One of her sisters, Charlotte, is also named after the princess of Monaco’s daughter. As for Beatrice, who is Genie’s twin sister, she seems to have a mysterious link with Genie that is greater than space and time.
"Every day I am just in awe. I have seen everything she has missed out on in childhood and teenage years. She has sacrificed a lot to get where she is today," said Beatrice.
Genie's 15-year-old brother William has seen all of her sister’s matches at Wimbledon this year. He said, "It’s amazing. All of my friends can’t believe my sister is top in the tennis world."
Meanwhile, although Genie admires and is a fan of Justin Bieber, she has a proviso. She's a Belieber! But Justin Bieber must become sober and give up his crazy ways before he can hang out with her.
