Current reports suggest that Rosie O'Donnell finally reached an agreement on Monday to rejoin 'The View' for its 18th season.
Rosie O'Donnell is returning to co-host the 18th season of ABC's hit daytime talk show 'The View.' Previous reports hinted that Rosie O'Donnell was in talks with the network to rejoin 'The View' and co-host it with Whoopi Goldberg in the next season as the other two co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy would be leaving in August.
But now some internal sources told TMZ Tuesday that Rosie O'Donnell has finally reached an agreement with ABC and the deal had been "almost completed by end of business day Monday."
Previous reports also suggest that 'The View' producers were looking to sign both a Latina and a conservative co-host. Abby Huntsman and Margaret Hoover’s names were also under consideration along with Rosie O'Donnell’s.
But Rosie O'Donnell has been chosen probably due to her previous experience in co-hosting the show and her entertaining debates with the other co-hosts. She co-hosted 'The View' from 2006 to 2007.
ABC is expected to make the announcement official soon. But a representative for the show dismissed Rosie's return rumors. He said that no official announcement will be made soon.
"'The View' will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made the decisions to evolve the show creatively but at this time, we have no announcement to make," a rep for the show told the Daily News Tuesday.
"We are weeks away from making any type of announcement about anything pertaining to the show."
