iFixit brings LG G Watch up against Samsung Gear Live

Guess which two latest creations reached the iFixit teardown tablet? The LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live. And you will be more than surprised to know that they both have a couple of similarities. We are not really implying that the LG G Watch followed suit from the Gear Live but we are also not denying the similarities.

But even though the two devices are identical in many ways, both don’t stand on the same score. In fact, surprisingly the LG G Watch managed to beat Samsung with its higher reparability score which was possible due to the cleaner internal design with fewer thin cables to make things complicated. The flexible circuit boards are glued-in which means that fixing the G Watch would be much easier. Though the final score doesn’t show much of a difference yet it says a lot about the two devices and where they stand; Gear Live scored an 8 and the G Watch won with 9.

Anyone clever enough would know how important it is for a device to have a greater possibility of getting repaired. And this one added benefit for the LG G Watch could make it the better contender out there in the smartwatch market. This shows the important of digging down into the devices because if the G Watch hadn’t scored that high on reparability, most of us would have naturally thought that the Gear Live is the better option.
