America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn are still best friends a decade after ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’
It has almost been ten years since we saw the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" land on the screen and even after this long two of its stars are still best friends. Amber Tamblyn reunited with her staunch friend America Ferrera at the screening of Ferrera’s new film "X/Y" in Los Angeles. At this event on Saturday, while talking about Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn told the US Weekly that "She's one of my best friends" and we can’t underestimate their strong bind as she revealed how she and husband David Cross goes on double cross dates with Ferrera and her husband Ryan Piers Williams.
"Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” was released in 2015 and was based on the young adult novel by Ann Brashares. The story revolved around four best friends (Ferrera, Tamblyn, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel) who separate for the summer and in order to keep their friendship intact, they decide to share a a pair of "magic" jeans that inexplicably fits them all perfectly. The movie’s sequel came out in 2008 and the friends reunited once again and one other time in 2013 for Entertainment Weekly.
Most of us wouldn’t know Ferrera from her role in this movie but all of us sure do know her for her famous character “Ugly Betty” and she is also the voice behind Astrid in ‘How to train a Dragon’. "We've been a part of each other's lives in really meaningful ways that go beyond making a movie together," Ferrera, 30, told EW last year of her "Sisterhood" co-stars. "We almost forget that we made a movie together because our friendship was created from so many other experiences."
