24 star Christina Chong has now joined the huge cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. Chong will reportedly play a minor supporting role.
The Latino Review first broke the news that was later on confirmed by many other websites. Chong is very excited about the upcoming next sequel of Star Wars. She is a fan of the franchise as shown by her tweet which she posted on her Twitter in May when the filming of Star Wars: Episode VII began.
Besides Fox's 24, Chong has also appeared in TV shows like Doctor Who and Black Mirror. She also appeared in Madonna’s “W.E. Christina Chong joins John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and also two recently added new cast members.
Britain's Pip Andersen and America's Crystal Clarke were taken on board as a result of last year's open auditions held in the US and UK. 12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong'o and Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie are also added after the announcement of the original Star Wars cast.
The Star Wars: Episode VII shooting spot is Pinewood Studios in London and the deserts of Abu Dhabi. However, certain reports also claim that some filming will be done at Puzzlewood in the Forest of Dean as the crew reportedly visited the place. Puzzlewood is famous for the shooting of TV shows such as Merlin, Dr Who and Atlantis.
Disney and Lucasfilm's “Star Wars: Episode VII” is set to hit theaters on Dec. 18th, 2015. J.J. Abrams is directing the current sequel while three more directors have also been taken on board for five more future episodes of the Star Wars franchise.
