After news broke that Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult split, the Academy Award-winning actress didn't appear as the injured duckling when she stepped out recently in New York.
Although Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are no longer dating (for the second time), from way the Hunger Games: Catching Fire actress stepped out recently, a pity-party was not in the cards.
Days ago in New York, Jennifer was spied looking sprightly in the Big Apple, according to a Us Weekly report. Lawrence was seen rocking a Bohemian look as she exited a building carrying a purse and travel bag. Jen donned a floppy hat, aviators, perforated crop-top -- that showed off her toned midsection -- loose-fitting denims, and matching boat flats.
It's unknown if she was coming or going, but from Jennifer Lawrence's photo, she appeared to be heading to the beach for some fun in the sun or headed home from a day at the spa.
Oftentimes, when celebrities split, handfuls of tabloids paint a gloomy picture of the former lovebirds. In the absence of images displaying public moping, rumors run fast and furiously. Jennifer and Nicholas' split is no different.
After two years of dating, Lawrence and Hoult called it quits. The reason: both X-Men co-stars blamed the breakup on distance. Lawrence lodges in Los Angeles and Hoult makes the U.K. his home. Therefore, it's not that odd of a reason to opt for splitsville.
But then, the magic happened: while filming the X-Men: Days of Future Past, Jen and Nick, who star as Mystique and Beast, found love again, this according to Us Weekly insider.
Supposedly, the two were seen lip-smacking on the set and that's about all it took for their romance to be rekindled. One year later, they were single again, and the culprit again was the distance thing.
"They just weren't together a lot, her life is a whirlwind. They have gotten back together before; it just got to be too hard for now."
On the contrary, IBTimes wrote that Jennifer was furious when she learned Kristen Stewart stole her man.
Word is the Twilight star was seen out and about with Jen's ex recently -- more than once. Two weeks ago, Kristen and Nicholas were spotted having sushi at a trendy restaurant in Los Angeles. On another occasion, they were together during a press conference for their movie, Equals.
The source said:
"Jen thought Kristen was her buddy. Now she thinks Kristen stabbed her in the back and took her man. Kristen got her hooks into Nicholas pretty quick. He's fallen hard for her. Kristen's more his type. She's independent and anti-Hollywood and laid-back just like he is. She's the opposite of Jennifer, who can be a bit manic."
The insider goes on to say that Jennifer "feels like she's been played for a fool, and she's furious."
As juicy as this gossip sounds, during an interview, Lawrence debunked the rumors and even said she and Stewart are close friends. In fact, when the steamy "I took your man" rumors hit, Jen called K-Stew, and they both shared a laugh.
Prior to Jennifer and Nicholas' most recent split, Hoult sat down with V magazine and talked about his relationship to his then girlfriend. Then, he talked about his fondness for Lawrence's manner of juggling fame with her personal life.
"It's like that thing whereby you don't believe your own hype. Enjoy the good times, but don't get swept away with it. I think that's something she's capable of doing, and that's what makes her special, but yeah, it is very odd, and I am just kind of a bystander in many ways. It is well-deserved for her. I haven't really seen any change in her,” he said.
It's unknown if Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence have thrown in the towel for the last time, but if a picture is worth a thousand words, her recent laid-back look signals that she'll be fine in the meanwhile.
