It is thought to be the same phone for Android but with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 on board instead
A joint press event is on its way by Microsoft and HTC which is scheduled for August 19th and is most likely going to introduce the HTC One for Windows. The new HTC is a high end phone and will be exclusively available on Verizon wireless in the US. It has only been a month since the official renders were given away on Verizon’s own servers and this is enough proof to confirm that the phone does exist. We will also probably get a new name for the phone which is going to be W8.

So this W8 is going to be the same phone as the M8 but the only difference would be that it would come with the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1. The confusion remains over the specifications as to whether they would remain the same or not. Chances are that they would have to be altered a bit for the Windows version. Thanks to Windows Phone Central, we might have some insight to the details regarding what’s inside the phone and if we look at the overall picture, there seems to be no surprises as such.
The OS on board as well know is going to be Windows Phone 8.1 and the phone would be powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 with an internal storage of 32 GB internal storage with support for up to 128 GB via micro SD.
