The headset — codenamed "Project Moonlight" — appears to be a bit like Google's Cardboard
Samsung’s virtual reality headset has been in the scene since some time now and a lot of rumors had been surrounding it up until now when Samsung has finally decided to show the product at an upcoming event which is scheduled to take place in early September. According to The Verge, this event is most likely also going to introduce us to the Galaxy Note 4. "Project Moonlight” by Samsung is most likely going to resemble Google’s Cardboard. So what we are really looking forward to is a box with lenses that can effectively turn a smartphone display into an immersive world.
Oculus is also said to have some involvement on this project. It is known for making use of the Note 3 display in some of its newer headsets and its previous involvement with this project tells us how modern smartphones have large, ultra-high-resolution displays and also they have enough set of sensors which can bring on an orientation which supports virtual reality platform. Though we have been treated to some pictures, we still don’t know what the final version of the device is going to look like. Some have speculated that the goggles are the work of Oculus but that hasn’t been confirmed as yet and it might be so that the production version ends up looking different as compared to this render.
