Cannon denies reports of cheating.
Cannon and Carey, who hosts “America’s Got Talent,” are separating after six years of marriage. “He hasn’t been staying at their home,” one music insider tells Page Six. “He’s been living out of hotels. They’re fighting a lot.”
Another source told Page 6 that Carey has suspected Cannon of cheating. When the comic hosted pool parties in Las Vegas earlier this year, the diva dispatched a security guard to keep watch over her husband.
“The security guard wasn’t there to keep the girls away from him,” said our source. “It was to keep him away from the girls.”
However, Cannon denied rumors that the strain in their marriage was due to infidelity. "My main focus is my kids," he said of the couple's 3-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
Carey, 44, and Cannon, 33, married in 2008 after a whirlwind six-week courtship. The couple tried for several years to conceive and, after a miscarriage in 2008, they welcomed twins on their wedding anniversary in 2011.
This was the first year that they did not renew their vows on their wedding anniversary, which had become a tradition for the pair. Instead they opted to go for a more low profile approach to their anniversary.
"It was low key," he told Parade magazine of the special day. "I mean, the year before, we kind of went over the top with Disneyland, so we kind of wanted to reel it in this year so everybody doesn't think that we try to do that every single year."
