This time, Reuben is trading in his kid-friendly alter-ego for a more sinister persona.
The Pee-Wee Herman show’s Reuben is going to make a guest appearance on NBC's The Blacklist Season 2. We all know him for his famous role in the children's cult-classic and in a twist of events we will see him trading his kid-friendly alter-ego for a more sinister persona. While talking to EW on Friday, producer Jon Bokenkamp said "I'd say he [Reuben] is gonna shake things up a bit when he enters Red's orbit."
We are going to see The Pee-Wee Herman’s actor from the third episode where he would play the role of Mr. Vargas who is a clean-cut mafia henchman and has an eye for every small detail. Apparently he has an important job in the organized crime syndicate and is responsible for handling delicate matters. Producer Bokenkamp has also stated that while he was working on the character of Vargas, he had Reuben in mind all along.
He said "It started with the character. We knew what he would feel like and sound like, and then as we started kicking around names. Paul's name came up as, 'Well, that would be cool. That will never happen, but we might as well ask.”
