The Miss Haiti 2014 beauty pageant was held at the Karibe Hotel. And the winner is none other than Carolyn Desert.
The last phase of the Miss Haiti 2014 was held at the Karibe Convention Center on Saturday, September 6, 2014. There were several who participated including Miss Conviviality and Miss Bikini.
But the leading female who won it on an overall basis was 25-year-old Carolyn Desert, a model and business woman. She also achieved the Miss Photogenic title.
The top five contestants of Miss Haiti 2014 include:
- Carolyn Desert,
- Chistie Desir,
- Jennifer Verdieu,
- Nastassia Raymond and
- Rose Cathelyne Paul.
When Carolyn Desert was finally selected, Miss Haiti 2014 spoke to the crowd and said that she had the crown and wanted to personally thank all her supporters and diehard fans.
She included those she knew and those she didn’t know too. Carolyn began her first eatery at the age of 24 years. She may be a model but she also realizes the fact that physical beauty cannot last forever.
So she wants to pen a book and maybe open other dining establishments. Carolyn feels great pride in being a Haitian and a woman. She has begun a project to rehabilitate 700 orphans.
And meanwhile she has many more goals that she wants to fulfill. "I am a woman who running after her dreams," Miss Haiti 2014 said.
The crystal crown which was on Carolyn’s head was made by the artist Lionel St Eloi. "We wanted a very touch very Haitian," indicated Karine Beauvoir, the Miss Haiti Committee Coordinator.
"Enhancing the beauty of our crafts, the dexterity of artists and craftsmen and all this in favor of this beautiful adventure hat is Miss Haiti, it was a great challenge for me and Lionel St. Eloi," declared ascale Theard, famous fashion items creator.
The competition this time around was such that more than a dozen Miss Haiti contenders were selected in the first round. Towards the end only five were left and it was out of these that Carolyn was pinpointed as the winner of the coveted title.
At the Karibe Convention Center, which is the venue where the whole event got held, there was a cocktail party in the beginning. Then there was a display show by Haitian designer Ralph Leroy.
Carolyn meanwhile was crowned much to her delight in the evening. She is very lucky that she will get to represent her country on an international basis. Her beauty truly shines out like a warm glow from inside.
