The Miss America 2015 Contest has even more surprises which lie ahead. Miss Florida and Miss Delaware barely made it to this round!

Miss Florida snatched the trophy in the prelims of the swimsuit competition. Miss Delaware meanwhile gained a Quality of Life Award scholarship. But did you know that they almost didn’t make it to the finish line in their home states.

The two made it to the big time show only after a great deal of dithering and controversy in their provenances of origin. In case of Miss Delaware, an elderly competitor was wrongly crowned before she got selected.

Amanda Longacre was allowed possession of her scholarship money which amounted to $9000. Yet Amanda wanted to go the whole hog and hence she is currently very dissatisfied regarding the whole deal.

The new Miss Delaware whose name is Brittany Lewis hails from Atlantic City. Meanwhile, the Miss Florida voting process went awry and so someone else other than the previous one won as the final chosen one.

The CEO of the Miss America Competition expressed his sorrow at this unfair yet necessary state of affairs and apologized to the states and their losing candidates for not making it to the Miss America beauty pageant.

On the other hand, in the prelims, Miss Maryland and Miss Pennsylvania won on the third night of the show. As for Miss Oklahoma and Miss Kentucky, they later on won the swimsuit and the fiddling competitions respectively.

Miss Ohio then displayed her ventriloquist act and wowed the crowd by her talent in this unrelated field. The lady who will win the Miss America pageant will be the runner up to replace Nina Davuluri who hails from NYC and is the current titleholder. She was an Indian American of Asian origin and had won the competition after a lot of struggle.

There were various prejudiced people, who couldn’t tolerate her ascendancy to the rank of Miss America, and engaged in a lot of trash talk online. But she had the grace and politesse not to get too riled up about this unfairness based upon the baseless concept of racism.
