He wants to get back to his roots in the city which has been undergoing a dilapidation of sorts lately. He had left the city in the nick of time before things started going badly finance-wise for the place.
I left Atlantic City years ago, good timing. Now I may buy back in, at much lower price, to save Plaza & Taj. They were run badly by funds!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 16, 2014
“I left seven years ago,” Trump told PageSix on Thursday. “I had great years in Atlantic City, I did well in Atlantic City. I’m gonna take a look at it. Not the same place, unfortunately.”
Does anybody notice that Atlantic City lost its magic after I left years ago. I had the big boxing, introduced UFC (ask Dana),the best shows— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 16, 2014
Now he is looking forward to returning there and buying up the cheap public buildings and rebuilding them closer to the heart’s desire. Among the imposing buildings owned by Trump once, that are not his property now, may be included Trump Plaza and the Taj Mahal Casino.
Both have gone bankrupt. Now it is up to good old Donald Trump to save them from the maw of extinction. Trump said that he had a soft place in his heart for all the poor people who were being given the sack in so many of the businesses and enterprises in Atlantic City.
“I feel very badly for a lot of people that are there,” the Donald continued. “So many people are being laid off in Atlantic City, there’s so many of them closing up. I will take a good, serious look.”
So he wanted to create a safety net of sorts for them so they would prosper and regain their lost status as job holders. Trump also tweeted the sad news that the city had lost its image due to mismanagement by the politicians and community leaders.
It is so sad to see what has happened to Atlantic City. So many bad decisions by the pols over the years - airport, convention center, etc.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 16, 2014
They had botched up the very infrastructure of the place. Now, he wanted to get back to the place in order to revamp and refurbish it both externally and internally.
Meanwhile, Trump lost the bid for auctioning of the Buffalo Bills to Terry Pegula, according to CBSSports. While Donald’s last bidding amount was a billion dollars, Terry’s was $1.4 billion and so he became the owner of the team in the end.
Bon Jovi’s band bid $1.05 billion for the team too and that is slightly more than Trump’s last stand. But Trump was so egotistical that he did not congratulate Terry, which is something even Bon Jovi and his band mates did in the end.
Trump accused Terry of overbidding for the team just to seek personal revenge from him in the end. Trump posted the following tweet instead of congratulating Terry.
