The new device is on track to launch Oct. 14th.

The launch of the new Playstation TV is North America is less than a month away.  Today Sony announced that there will be nearly 700 games to complement the network on the day of launch.

The new Playstation TV is able to play many of the PS Vita games through downloading or inserting the game card into the system, along with PS1 and PSP games.  Through Remote Play, it can be used to stream PlayStation 4 games from one PS4 console in your home onto a separate television that the PS TV is connected to.

With the new streaming service that Sony is offering, Playstation owners can now stream Playstation 3 titles to the network device.  The PS Now system entered open beta on the PS3, and Sony has yet to announce when the support will be coming for PS TV.

The statement that was released by Sony also gives additional details on the price and options for the new device saying, " On October 14, you can pick up a PS TV starting at $99.99 (MSRP) for the standalone system, or $139.99 (MSRP) for the bundle that includes a Wireless Controller (DUALSHOCK 3), 8GB memory card, and The LEGO Movie Videogame. For a limited time, you can find an exclusive PS TV bundle at Walmart, which comes with everything in the PS TV bundle plus Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, also for $139.99 (MSRP)."

The PS TV also comes with a host of popular game options that include Rayman Origins, God of War collection, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD remaster, and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lion.

PS TV was released in Japan and other Asian countries under the name "PlayStation Vita TV" last fall. Sony is trying to expand its entertainment network services to compete against players like Inc.

PlayStation boss Shaun Layden told tech blog Re/code in June the company was "on track" to unveil its product in October of this year.

Sony Corp said PlayStation TV set-top box will hit stores in the United States and Canada on Oct. 14.
