Alfonso was talking to the CBS News and he said that Smith was impressed by his skills. Alfonso played in a Broadway musical in 1983 and it was called the “The Tap Dance Kid”. He then appeared in a Michael Jackson Pepsi ad and this is why the critics are saying that Alfonso has an unfair advantage over his opponents.
Alfonso said that he was at the same level as his competitors. He said that people think he is a professional dancer which is not the case. He said that he did tap dance once but that was it.
Alfonso also said that he never took classes for dancing. He only danced whenever he got a dancing part. Ribeiro said that he needs to keep his focus when he comes on Dancing With The Stars and said that there is a quickstep which is the most challenging step.
Currently Ribeiro is teaming up Ralph Macchio and wrestler Steve Austin in two separate projects. Alfonso thinks that this week is the toughest of all. He is struggling with a quickstep and is trying to remember all of the other steps.
He thinks that he can deliver a good performance in the next show. He said that he never feels pressure whenever he is in difficult situation and the reason for that is because he isn’t looking at the end result.
