Apple has introduced last year a low-cost and colorful iPhone line with the iPhone 5c. Initially thought to be a failure, the iPhone 5c was the best-selling smartphone in Britain during the month of August according to a new report.

Apple unveiled new iPhones with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Apple did though not deliver yet a new iPhone in the C-series. The colorful and low-cost iPhone 5c was introduced last year and was initially thought that it will fail. According to a new report, the iPhone 5c is doing very well despite the iPhone 6 introduction. A new Kantar World Panel report released today says that the iPhone 5c was the best-selling smartphone in the UK in August.

The iPhone 5c was the best selling phone in Britain in August with 8.9% share, outselling the flagship iPhone 5s with 7.6% and the Samsung Galaxy S5 with 6.0%.

Apple has never broken out sales numbers for the iPhone 5c, but it is apparently selling very well. I would not be surprised if Apple will release an iPhone 6c soon. The iPhone 5c is technically very behind now. It is based on iPhone 5 technology.

A plastic iPhone 6C would actually solve my esthetic issues with the iPhone 6. I still hate the antenna lines and of course the protruding camera lens. A plastic iPhone 6c could suddenly become cleaner choice.

I don't think Apple would release an iPhone 6c Plus, but I could see a lot of potential for a colorful iPhone 6c. I could see Apple pairing iPhone 5S technology with the screen of the iPhone 6 and through in the Apple Pay.
