Smith's future with the Ravens seems to be on the edge after the team failed to make a comeback due to the opportunities that he missed. The wide receiver issued a statement saying that he still believes he has what it takes to lead his team to victory.
Smith pointed out that he is learning a lot from his draw downs. He added that the losses his team has recorded were inevitable. The Ravens star feels that nobody can change his performance because he is in charge of his game.
In a brief interview with the press in the changing room, Smith maintained that he was preparing himself so that he could close in on any opportunities that will come his way. The interview was held after Ravens defeat on Sunday. The star said that he is not a coward to run away from challenges and so he would rather face the bull by the horns.
After Ravens were defeated on Sunday, Smith could not withhold his feelings and took it to Twitter where he argued that he was 'unwell' and that he was under a lot of pressure both in the field and outside the field. When asked to give a brief explanation about being 'unwell', the player simply gave a vague explanation.
I'm sick right now...never been in this position before...very trying times for me on and off the field but I will be better from this— Torrey Smith (@TorreySmithWR) October 5, 2014
Though most people interpreted his tweet to mean that he was worried that his contract with Ravens was coming to a close, the player stated that he was not bothered by contract negotiations. Smith argued that people should know that he is an ordinary human being and so he too faces challenges like everyone else out there. The star said that he finds solace in his lovely wife and their kid because they offer a shoulder to cry on.
Smith argued that he avoids discussing his contract with anyone including his agent Drew. This is actually Smith's fourth year with Ravens and he may be roaming freely unless his contract is renewed.
