The People’s Princess, Lady Diana, was lionized by her two sons, William and Harry for her philanthropic work.
Both Princes lent immense tribute to their late mother, Princess Diana, who was according to Elton John, a Candle in the Wind. William and Harry lauded their mother’s interest in countering bullying in children and teens.

She had set up a charity foundation that tackled this seriously cruel form of torture that many sensitive youngsters had to face at school and college. Diana died a decade and a half ago.
But her memory is still fresh in the minds of many Britons. She won over the hearts of an entire nation and was a symbol of true humanitarianism in an age of crass excess and media hype.
The princes said that their mama would have been extra proud of the charity that had been started and which bore her name. The Diana Award was the epitome accolade of this foundation. And the charity institute began its activities two years after her demise.
William and Harry also wrote a preface for a book that celebrated the foundation and its altruistic activities. They said that when the youth is given opportunities, they respond in a positive manner by achieving the impossible.
Furthermore, they spoke of how their mother would have been mighty proud of the change that had been brought about in the world thanks to the foundation started in her name.
She would have indeed been very happy and thankful for the difference she had made in a heedless world that was going towards meaninglessness at breakneck speed.
Such societal issues as bullying behavior and isolation of those who were different in any way were serious problems that needed remedies if we wanted to leave behind a better world for our children and their children’s children.
The Diana Award was presented to people who influenced society in a healthy way and touched hearts by their tender loving care. It took a lot of responsibility and social sense to lend succor to souls who felt hurt or left out of the mainstream.
The scarcest of commodities in the global village today is love. And Diana was an icon of warmth, empathy and kindness during her times. May her charitable setup go from strength to strength!
