The Nexus 7 (both 2012 and 2013-Wi-Fi variants) and the Nexus 10 will be getting Android Lollipop as early as November 3rd this year.

What we had been referring to as the Android L has finally got itself a reasonable name in the form of Lollipop and the latest addition to the Android portfolio is officially known as the Android 5.0 Lollipop. This open-source operating system for smartphones, tablets and wearables gave Google the opportunity to introduce the Material Design UI which has done wonders for the Android aesthetics front. Along with this there is a string of new features accompanying the latest software which is initially going to be enjoyed by the Nexus line of phones.

Everyone else is left to wonder when they will be getting the new software on their devices and though we don’t have any affirmation to this query, there is however something from the sources which tells us that the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 are going to get it as early as November 3rd of this year.

According to Android Police, they have gotten this information from very reliable sources who believe that Wi-Fi tablets mentioned above will be the first ones to receive the OTA update for Android 5.0 Lollipop. It might be surprising for some to find out that the tablets have been prioritized over likes of Nexus 5, it may seem a little wise to make this decision since these are Wi-Fi only devices.

This decision might also make a lot more sense if we consider how the new Android software usually gets started on the smartphones with a lot of bugs which create troubles in the form of dropped calls and cellular connectivity issues. So Google is perhaps on the right track by pushing out the update for non-cellular devices first and then focusing on ensuring a smooth and successful launch for their mobile-connected counterparts.
