When Elizabeth Pena was announced dead on October 14 at Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, most people were left wondering what could have caused the death of the 55 year old actress. Medical examinations carried out on her body have revealed that she suffered from internal bleeding at the time of her death. The report states that the abnormality was triggered by her habit of indulging in huge volumes of alcohol.

According to Inquisitr, the actress had been battling with the condition for quite some time. The condition is said to have worsened as her end time came close. The report indicates that the cirrhosis (cells inflammation) of her liver changed just before she passed on.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office, Craig Harvey, was quoted by US Today saying that the document was in deed signed by a private practitioner.
