Jian Ghomeshi was fired for reasons that have not been disclosed by the CBC administration.
Jian Ghomeshi, 47, has a long career but he made his mark on the CBC network with the Q show that airs on CBC Radio One. The show airs all over the North American region on different channel and showcases a national arts magazine. His most memorable show is his interview with Billy Bob Thornton. While the star came on the show to discuss his music career while he was on tour in Canada.

The star was discourteous to Jian when he mentioned Billy’s acting career. The little spectacle on FM lines gave CBC a wide range of listeners who tuned in to listen to the after effects of Billy and Jian’s row. Back then, that will be 2009, CBC held on to Jian as one of their most valuable assets and Jian continued to host the show. In addition to his hosting career, Jian is a published author and an award winning musician.
The question remains then that why CBC would let such a valuable star go. Well, impending scandal might be a worthy explanation. Jian was supposedly in a relationship which included some unwarranted sexual activity such as BDSM.
The question of consent being involved was highly vulnerable. According to Jian, he broke up with the woman at the start of the year and since then she has been persecuting him on the basis of an abusive relationship.
Jian was adamant that his bedroom life was his and his alone and he should share it with no one else but he also felt the sensitivity related to the matter with regard to his career. He informed CBC about his ex-girlfriend and the nature of their relationship.
He assured the admin that any sexual activity he had performed with the woman was with her consent and he had performed no illegal or immoral act. The network’s workers and lawyers were working with Jian over the conflict that had arisen due to his ex-girlfriend accusations.
Did Jian become too expensive for the network? That is still to be seen but CBC member Chuck Thompson explained to the media that evidence against Ghomeshi had come to light which in the network’s opinion were grounds to let him go.
The nature and the contents of the evidence were not disclosed and for good causes because Jian is filing a lawsuit against CBC on Monday that "will claim general and punitive damages for among other things, breach of confidence and bad faith." Things are about to get heated for CBC and Jian. It would be curious to see if the network would reconcile with the host or settle for an out of court agreement.
