Rihanna has become a world icon of fashion, music and social philanthropy around the world. She represents her strong self in the December issue of ELLE magazine that will be out at the end of this month. Rihanna is the most covered star in Elle's Editor in chief Robbie Myers tenure.
Since her first international hit ‘Pon De Replay’ in 2005, the Elle Magazine approached her for the first time to do a cover story on her. According to editor Robbie Meyers, at that time she was a nervous newbie who was scared of her fans attention and all the fame she had claimed. She did not know how to be herself.

Meyers said that she was featured thrice in the magazine after the 2005 issue; June 2008, July 2010 and May 2012. She is once again being featured in the December Elle issue of this year. Robbie Meyers said that this month’s issue will make Rihanna the most covered star by the magazine during his tenure. He observed that in a decade worth of corresponding with the star, he had seen her grow ever so much every time he saw her.
Rihanna has come a long way from shooting in Marc Jacobs, Valentino and Dolce and Gabbana for the first Elle shoot to being the co-record holder with Michael Jackson number-one hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart with 37.7 million followers on Twitter and a representative of numerous constituencies around the world.
With a voice to get hooked on to, the Bajan beauty has become a fashion icon around the world. A musical force, a social media savant and a single-word phenomenon that has put her life out there for the world to see despite her flaws. The star that was once afraid of the attention of her fans is not afraid of anyone’s judgment anymore.
Meyers said that when he received photos of Rihanna for the December issue, he was stunned for a while. He said that the photographer Paola Kudacki and her creative team consisting of fashion editor Lori Goldstein, creative director Alex González, and contributing editor Lizzy Goodman all agree that Rihanna’s photos looked somewhat like a piece of art.
Meyers wrote that Rihanna showed up at the photo shoot without any make-up. With only a little make-up and a Yerpem necklace, Rihanna bore it all on the camera. She was self-aware, direct and self-regarding; she was honest and confident in her skin as she posed. The team is proud to cover the most iconic star of the time.
