According to Philly via Miami Herald, a report published in the newspaper reveals that the baseball star, while being grilled by DEA officers at the beginning of this year, agreed that he manipulated his performance by indulging in drugs.
The malpractice came into the limelight in 2013 and it saw many players get suspended on allegations of using steroids to increase their performance. Rodriguez still maintains he is innocent.
According to the report in the newspaper, the player told DEA officers that he had to part away with $12,000 every month in order to get the medicine from Bosch.
Apparently, Bosch is not a registered doctor. Despite that, he managed and operated his own clinic that goes by the name Biogenesis of America.
Once Bosch got the cash, he would then proceed to hand syringes that contained the medicine. The syringes would be used for administering the steroids into his stomach.
Rodriguez said he did not fetch the steroids himself but used to send his close cousin, Yuri Sucart. The star had prepared for his interrogation in advance.
In fact he had alerted his criminal defense lawyer who was actually outside the conference room. The lawyer is based in New York. From the moment the player walked out of the grilling session, he has never accepted that he has ever committed any crime.
Rodriguez was banned from playing in 211 matches. However, the penalty was later slashed to 162 matches. As a matter of fact, the suspension period is over. Before he was questioned by DEA, the star had stated in January that he was not guilty of any offense.
