There is a reason why Big Hero 6 has trumped Interstellar in theaters across the nation.

A whole lot of appeal and viral marketing has laid the groundwork for Big Hero 6. So much so that the all-new Disney Animation will probably beat Interstellar which is not a bad deal in itself. The legitimate question now before every parent is that do they want to pull their crying kids to watch Interstellar or should they give into the little tyke’s temperament and opt for Big Hero 6 instead.

This sets the stakes and the two giant epics will be facing off at the box office soon. Big Hero 6 is a PG-rated film and it stars Hiro Hamada and his robotic sidekick Baymax. It is expected to gross over $65 million within the first half week of its release.

As for Paramount Pictures’ Interstellar, it will star Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and the inimitable Michael Caine. And it is slated to cash in at $55 to $60 million. That’s not a bad deal if you come to think about it either. But maybe it will tank even lower on the sweepstakes scale.

The budgets for both movies are humongous and the two makers, Disney Studios and Director Christopher Nolan, have virtually bet against all odds regarding their artistic creations. Big Hero 6 is Disney’s first major venture after Frozen. But the point is that this healthy competition could affect the incoming revenues for both movies.

After all, the dialogue could involve the people who come to watch the films in the first place and thus generate greater traffic in theaters in the coming days. The constructive criticism could act as a catalyst and accelerator of sorts. Thus all is well that ends well. While Disney’s fare will be in 3D, Interstellar will not show its stuff in this particular format.

As far as hearsay has it, again Big Hero 6 has the advantage of being a crowd favorite and people puller. The marketing tactics used by the spin doctors for both the movies are pretty much equal in their punch. But Big Hero 6 delivers bigger bang per buck.

The presence of ads and teasers for both films on social media are heavy stuff too. Ultimately, both silver screen hypnosis devices could end up earning a whole lot of greenbacks. The deciding factor will be the public which is the final arbiter in such matters.
