The new Hunger Games ‘Mockingjay Part 1’ is a super hit and has been a hit with the fans. Not has only the movie made a mark on fans but the new songs of the movie have created quite an excitement among fans. The new song ‘The Hanging Tree’ has been sung by James Newton Howard and the famous Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence.

Jennifer’s vocal are just amazing in the new song. ‘The Hanging Tree’ has been racked number 14 by for UK's Top 100 list and number 12 by The fame of the song can be linked to the success of the movie ‘Mockingjay Part 1’ and Jennifer Lawrence who is the heartbeat of ‘The Hunger Games’ and the fans just love her. 

Not only is this but the Academy award winner actress aiming for the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with this new song ‘The Hanging Tree’. The song was released on November 24th and estimates are that the song is going to exceed 150,000 downloads in the U.S.

The song has been written by Suzanne Collins who is also the author of the Hunger Games series and The Lumineers' Jeremiah Fraites and Wesley Schultz. The song is heard as a cappella performance by Lawrence in her character Katniss Everdeen and then she is joined by a choir and orchestra.

Jenifer Lawrence explained on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ that singing was one thing that she feared a lot and she hates to sing in front of other people. The Oscar winner has also reached the top 20 pop star rank

This comes as no surprise because the ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1’ is a blockbuster and has captured the hearts of the fans. This Lionsgate production has bagged around $56,875,000, figures till this weekend. Second to it is 20th Century Fox’s ‘Penguins of Madagascar’ which has earned $25,800,000.

So the difference between the two even shows how famous and successful this part of Hunger Games has been. The success for Hunger Games has also helped in the success Jennifer experiences today. Plus the movie was released in over 87 countries and has earned $123,875,000 worldwide. 

In an interview with AOL, Francis Lawrence, the director of Mockingjay Part 1 explained the idea behind ‘The Hanging Tree’. He explained that the book included this song which was sung by Katniss Everdeen’s (Jennifer Lawrence) father and it was basically a folk song. That is why he explained that such a melody had to be chosen.

Francis also explained that Jennifer was given a vocals coach but she still did not want to sing. He revealed that Jennifer even cried a little bit because she was not at all happy singing the song. Francis was all praises for Jennifer as he explained that the song was not pre-recorded and was live. Well that is something to be proud of Jennifer!

Well Jennifer we don’t know why you are shy from singing because you have an amazing voice and the song is just great. So keep it up Jennifer!
