The show ends with the end of the bloody antagonist but not before he redeemed himself.
Charlie Hunman’s character of Jax Teller has been a tough choice for the audience of the show. To support a protagonist who is violent and bloody goes beyond the psychology of beckoning a hero.

Jax has still managed to gather the love and support from the audience despite the bloody trail of murder, espionage and scheming all over the town of Charming. It was a war they fought and the wars tend to be bloodsheds often.
For the past seven years that the show has run, people have anticipated how it might end and that had to be the basic challenge for director Kurt Sutter to end the show with something that made sense and was phenomenal at the same time. it all lied in the secret of Jax.
After his night with Wendy, Jax planned a day ahead that would put an end to the mayhem that was Jax created all the way. In his years of defying his father Clay, while becoming an image of him all the same, Jax knew this was not the life he wanted for his boys and they were not going to get a better life while he was around.
He knew it was him that mayhem followed and not the other way around and it had to end. He has already avenged the brain forking mother of his, Gemma.
As a sign of her vengeance satisfied, Jax visits her grave along with that of his best friend Opie; the two people who got him the most and the ones he loved the most.
After reflective moments, he leaves his rings on their graves and he takes a heart felt confession to the D.A. in which he told the tragic truth of Tara’s death and how he murdered Gemma's and Unser's and where he hid their bodies.
He goes to his father’s grave and tells him that his boys deserved a life away from the chaos and he was going to see to it. He says goodbye to Wendy and the boys at Nero’s and goes to SMACRO to give up his president’s rights.
He presides the last voting for the bike club where the members vote Chibs. Tig gets chosen his second man.
While that happens he tells the club he’s ready and hands Chib a gun. Instead of the Kill, Chib shoots Happy to cover up Jax’s getaway and keeping the gangs from pursuing the gang later for not killing him. Goodbye SMACRO but no goodbye to Jax yet. See, when you confess to murder, D.A.’s got to do something.
So it was a siren blazing chase to the outskirts of Charming where on the turn Jax gets smothered by a truck driven Milo. He happens to be the same trucker who gave Gemma a ride before her death and what a karma that his is the driving hand that kills Jax Teller when he rode away on his father’s motorcycle.
It’s no loose ends, tied up safely and no mess end except for the huge mess of blood around Jax’s mangled body. The truth is yet to be perceived that the show has ended. Jax is dead and FX after getting a high rating will never return to the show.
