Three years back, in 2012, Paul Chavand established his own company that has created inspiring attention in two years of its brief history. Rollkers SAS is a French company based in Dijon. The company introduced a revolutionary transportation accessory which claims to increase a person’s average walking rate by 7 miles per hour. The product has already been awarded the silver award at the Inventions in Geneva exhibition in transport category.
So what is this revolutionary product? Paul Chavand found the experience of going on ‘travelators’ at the airports exhilarating. He found the easy medium of transport without the use of much effort very innovative. He also had concerns about people using public transport for reaching their destination. The use of public transport created mental stress due to crowding on buses and trains and the bustle of inter-city traffic.
He also found the hazardous effects of air pollutants and smog on health. Instead of creating a new technological rockets for fast transport, Chavand led on with the environmental friendly attitude of people in Europe and went back to traditional innovation. Rollkers are like brand new kind of skates that you could just strap on at the heels of your shoes.
Just strap on these babies and stroll or simply move your feet. These will give you a pollution free, healthy walk all around the city without any environmental hazards. They are said to increase an average person’s walking rate upto 7 miles which is fit for the people who are sitting all the time.
The Rollkers are a prototype and in final stages of testing. They hope to have a final functional model on CES 2015 which will require no special skating skills. They will automatically balance the feet and help for an easy stroll.
