It is rumored that Samsung is going to display its Tizen TV at the CES 2015.
Kim Hyun-suk head of Samsung’s visual display vision stated that there will be no surprise show at the CES 2015. However, according to a report from CNet, he stated that the visitors could expect to see a Tizen TV on display at the show. He also said that up till now it hasn’t been decided whether the Tizen TV would be the main attraction for visitors at the Samsung booth.
Well for those who are unaware of a Tizen TV than we will get you familiar with it. Tizen is a Samsung designed OS which has powered smart watches such as the Gear 2 and Gear S. moreover a Tizen powered phone was stopped from being launched in Russia earlier this year due to the rumors of an Indian launch. Plus Samsung stresses that Tizen is a cross platform OS.
Earlier this year Kim had told reporters at a trade show in Seoul, South Korea that making of a TV powered by the OS was in progress and could be launched this year. Kim explained to the reporters that the biggest strength and advantage of the Tizen TV will be its open source platform.
This entire aside, for those who will be attending the International CES 2015 should know that the co-CEO of Samsung Electronics B.K. Yoon will be delivering a keynote speech at the CES 2015. It is also thought that he will likely talk about smart homes and the Internet of Things.
Moreover TV’s that are going to be showcased at the CES this year are going to be amazing. LG is rumored to announce its new OLED TV. However you should know that 4K is going to be replacing 1080p this time. This doesn’t mean that the 4K is better than 1080p in resolution it is that this year 4K is going to be the hot trend.
4K resolution LCD panels are going to be midrange TVs and it is expected that the big manufactures are going to introduce more series of 4K TV’s than 1080p TVs this year. Also do not be surprised if you come across a 8K TV at the CES 2015 because these 8K TVs have been in store since 2012’s CES and don’t be excited because these 8K TVs are not going to be available in the markets.
Samsung has announced that it is abandoning the OLED for Quantum Dot which is a technology that improves color gamut and saturation. If you have forgotten Samsung’s bendable curved LCD TV was the showstopper of the CES 2014. Let’s see what Samsung has in store for us this time! It seems Samsung will be bringing out its Tizen TV operating system this time at the CES 2015.
