Google Play Store hints towards upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S Pro

The upcoming slate is likely to have its launch at the Mobile World Congress in March.

It is not usual for bigger companies to openly advertise their upcoming devices or even their plans for the future ahead, but sometimes, intentionally or otherwise, they do like to throw in a hint or two for people like us to keep pondering over something for the next couple of weeks, sometimes even years. This time, with Samsung’s updated Milk Music app came a list of all the compatible devices which also included the rumored Galaxy Tab S Pro tablet. This clearly shows that Samsung has been planning to unveil this device and we bet our money for the Mobile World Congress in March.

However, there is not much we can say about the tablet because no details have leaked so far except the name, which has at least given us a head-start and we can depict what this is going to be. As far as we know, the Galaxy Tab S line-up features Super AMOLED displays and because we know in what sense Samsung uses the tag of ‘Pro’ we can say that we can judge a few things already. The Pro moniker has been used by Samsung for its Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 tablet.

So if we got to know eventually that the Galaxy Tab S Pro 12.2 has joined the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5, it wouldn’t come as a surprising development. Samsung appears to stick to the Pro tag for one of its larger slates but it has used the word for its high-end Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 and Galaxy Tab Pro 10.5.

In any case, the models of the Galaxy Tab S run on the Exynos 5 Octa 5420 chipset, so this right now seems like the safest bet for the upcoming Tab S Pro. The likelihood of a home-baked chipset has increased even more after Samsung has shown immense interest in ditching Qualcomm for its own chipsets.
