Here is the next Super Bowl 2015 ad causing an outrage from a group of people. Comedian Nick Offermann managed to offend people who need to eat gluten-free. Nick Offerman says in the NBC's NASCAR Super Bowl 2015 commercial: "When our idea of danger is eating gluten, there is trouble afoot. Yes, we the people have gotten soft."
A Change.org petition received over 16,000 signatures to asking NBC to pull the ad. The petitioner makes a valid point that gluten-free kids get bullied for have to eat different to manage the Celiac disease.
The outcry has already been heard and the joke about gluten-free will not be in the 60-second NASCAR Super Bowl 2015 Ad that will air during the Super Bowl 2015 broadcast. An NBC Sports spokesperson said in a statement according To AdWeek: "The intent of our creative was to highlight NASCAR's return to NBC Sports in 2015 and celebrate the sport's fun and passionate following," said an NBC Sports spokesman. "The response has been overwhelmingly positive, but we understand that it is hard to please everyone and apologize to anyone who took offense."
The extended 2 minute version of the NASCAR Super Bowl 2015 Ad still will contain the gluten-free joke.
