Americans will order 12.5 million Pizzas on Super Bowl Sunday.

Earlier we reported that Americans are expected to ear 12.5 billion chicken wings for the Super Bowl this Sunday. Another report says that besides the chicken wings, Super Bowl fans will order 12.5 million Pizzas.

This number comes from Technomic Inc. via a Wall Street Journal article about the Pizza box business. Every ordered Pizza needs a box and this is where a company like Rock-Tenn based in Norcross, Ga. comes in. They make 3 million Pizza boxes in 17 plants every day. Rock-Tenn makes the boxes for 50% of delivery Pizzas in America. These numbers are really impressive.

If you plan on ordering a Pizza on Super Bowl Sunday, Papa John has a free Pizza promotion. Papa John’s offers fans who place a minimum order of $15 on www.papajohns.com using promo code SUPERBOWL between Thursday, Jan. 29 and Sunday, Feb. 1 will receive a free large pizza with up to three toppings on their next order beginning Monday, Feb. 2 through Sunday, February 22.
