Victoria's Secret angel Candice Swanepoel wears a white Apple Watch Sport Edition on the March cover of Self magazine. This is not the first time the Apple Watch made a magazine cover. The November 2014 issue of China's Vogue was the first one.

The Apple Watch will go on sale in April. It remains to be seen how much marketing Apple will do for the launch. Subtle product placements like on a magazine cover are great for Apple as anything Apple Watch is big news in the weeks ahead of the launch.
Candice Swanepoel is likely wearing the small 38mm case version of the Apple Watch. There are 34 version of the Apple Watch at launch to choose from.
Apple reportedly ordered 5 million Apple Watch units from its suppliers for the launch. The distribution of the order over the 34 combinations must be difficult. Most units will be in the Apple Watch Sport edition priced at the announced $349. Apple has still not revealed the pricing for the Apple Watch and the Apple Watch Edition collections.
The Apple Watch is predicted to become a success right out of the gate, marginalizing existing smartwatches. Apple has though then still to proof that the Apple Watch goes beyond its massive early adopter consumer base into the mainstream.

The main drivers for the adoption of the Apple Watch are its communication features including sending taps and emojis. Apple had to make cuts in the health and fitness features as current technology did not live up to Apple's quality standards. The biggest barrier for the Apple Watch adoption beyond early adopters is the need to recharge every day.
