Record breaking temperatures are to be accompanied by Heavy rainfall, snowfall and may even risk flooding in some regions of the USA.

Record breaking low temperatures are being recorded in the Eastern United States with a continuation of frigid air. The blast of cold air is concentrating from the direction of Serbia and the cross polar flow of air is experiencing very little moderation while reaching the south of USA.

The cross polar flow travels across the North Pole for thousands of miles over tundra‚Äôs and a sea of ice. The cold weather is so intense it may even be compared to the winters of the Ninety-seventies, Ninety-eighties and Ninety-nineties.

Two major cold waves are incoming towards the USA, the first wave will spread from the Northern Plains to all the way to the East. The second wave will spread from the South East from Canada in the coming week. The waves will probably not be as extreme as temperature is already but it will contribute in prolonging the winter season well into March.

A snow storm is brewing over the 1800 miles region from Wyoming to Colorado to Massachusetts and then to Maine. Accoding to AccuWeather, the storm will inevitably result in icy roads and will most probably cause flight cancellation and delays. While the storm will be warmer than the previous last week it will contain more moisture as it will travel from the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.

Cities such as Kansas City, Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia, New York, and Maine may be covered in snow as a result of the storm. Areas such as Nashville to Atlanta and Charlotte, North Carolina, will obtain rain during the storm. Heavy snow may fall north part of the Ohio Valley to the central Appalachians.

Flooding is also a possibility in certain areas due to heavy rainfall or snowfall. The areas threatened with flooding are Kentucky, West Virginia and part of Virginia. Rooftops may even collapse due to the heavy pressure in New England and parts of upstate New York. The rain may have freezing temperatures in Northern & Western parts of Virginia and South & East New England.  Damage to trees and powers system in these areas is an additional concern.

As the second wave of frigid air will hit the storm hit areas the ice may freeze even more causing further problems and opportunities for accidents.
