Apple Watch Event Scheduled for March 9

Apple sent out invitations to media for an March 9 media event.

Apple will hold a media event on March 9 in the San Francisco at the Yerba Buana Center for Arts. The company has sent out invitations to media that say "Spring Forward." The event is expected to be the official Apple Watch launch event. Apple will present the Apple Watch with more details than in Fall and will introduce the most impressive Apple Watch apps to put the hype in over drive for the launch of the Apple Watch in April.

Apple will reveal the date when the Apple Watch will go on sale and the pricing for the more expensive editions. We also expect Apple to reveal new developments in iOS and OS X. Of course the event will start with sales stats and update on the success of Apple Pay.

The Apple Watch event is 10 days ahead of BaselWorld 2015. This is enough time to allow the Swiss Watch makers to adjust their messaging for their show. Swatch and Tag Heuer are expected to try to counter the Apple Watch with their own creations.

So far most industry observers predict a successful launch for the Apple Watch. Pebble just landed a big success for their new color smartwatch Pebble Time. In just a few days they sold smartwatches worth of more than $10 million. This is about 50,000. This number is awesome for Pebble, but peanuts for Apple. Apple is supposed to have ordered 5 million Apple Watch units for the launch quarter.
