  • Chappie On Top Of Box Office As The Movie Earns $13m In Its First Week

Despite the movie being on top of the charts, many Neil Blomkamp fans claim that it is the director’s first disappointing movie.

Neil Blomkamp has always been able to make remarkable movies. He was one of those directors that could do no wrong until now. His fans have turned on him and say that this is his first big disappointment. 

The movie is on top of the Weekend Box Office charts and it earned $13.3 million in its opening week. Many people were tipping this movie to be a brilliant one but the critics didn’t rate it too well. 

Sony made this movie and they will hope to get as much out of the movie as possible. On number 2 we have Focus. This movie was made by WB studios and it has earned $10 million dollars till now. Will Smith is one of the main actors from the movie.

Rotten Tomatoes only gave it a 56% approval rating. The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel had a slow start. But this movie wasn’t that disappointing when compared with the other ones. It earned $8.6 million on its debut.

After that we have the Kingsman: The Secret Service and it has only made $8.3 million in one month. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water has had 5 weeks and it has only earned $7million.

The ever anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey movie has only earned $5.6 million in a month. Over at Rotten Tomatoes the Chappie movie got an approval rating of 29% whereas the new Still Alice movie got an approval rating of a whopping 90%.

The biggest disappointment of this week was Unfinished Business. It earned only $4 million on its opening and the cost for the movie was $35 million. Vince Vaughn hasn’t been great with comedies since his 2009 Couples Retreat movie. He has now starred in several flop comedies and this one is his latest one.

American Sniper has moved to the 11th place after breaking the $337 million mark.
