The script will be written by the Oscar nominee Susannah Grant.
The renowned star of Scandal Kerry Washington has agreed to star as Anita Hill and also executive produce a TV movie for the premium cable, HBO. ‘Confirmation’ is the project on which Kerry will now work. The movie is in development from HBO films and will cover the explosive 1991 Clarence Thomas Supreme Court nomination hearings.

These hearings if you remember had brought the whole country to a standstill and forever changed the way people thought about sexual harassment, modern day race relations and even victims’ rights.
Moreover Susannah Grant the academy award nominated writer will be writing the script and will also executive produce alongside Kerry. It will be produced by Groundswell Production in association with ABC Signature Studios.
In an interview with Marie Claire, Kerry Washington gave some of her thoughts on different aspects and talked about her private life. Speaking on privacy Kerry stated that in the early days of her career she used to share more but then later on there were moments where she wanted to process things that were happening to her in private.
When asked about her collaboration with Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes she said that she respects Shonda’s vision a lot especially about who Olivia Pope is. As we all know that Kerry is famous for her dressing sense and the way she carries herself, it was obvious that she had to shed some light on fashion. Kerry stated that she loves the fashion industry even though she realized that a little late.
Kerry also stated about her childhood and her days growing up. She like most of the actresses out there said that she did not grow up thinking that she was pretty and always thought that there was a girl prettier than her.
This is why she learned to be smart and tried to be funny and develop her inside because she believed that’s what she had. Kerry was also asked about her family she talked about her daughter Isabelle. Kerry stated that she wanted her daughter to be heard as she feels that is what all of them want.
Now for HBO ‘Confirmation’ comes as the premium cable operator is trying to build its roster of original films, according to THR. For this purpose HBO this week has also tapped Elizabeth banks and Paul Giamatti to star as tennis legends Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in a new movie that will be dealing with the duo’s legendary Battle of the Sexes match. Moreover HBO is also getting ready for an adaptation of Bryan Cranston’s Tony winner All the Way with Jay Roach as the director.
The deal of Confirmation marks a big off-network sale for ABC Signature which is an arm of the ABC Studios. Apart from this it is also HBO’s latest buy from an outside studio. Before this HBO had bought series from Warner Bros which included The Leftovers and the upcoming Westworld.
