While some swoon over the higher prices of the latest high profile smartphones, some are not satisfied and would find solace in spending even more and will stop only until they have nothing but the best. For such customers, smartphones started getting pampered and were adorned with all kinds of things which would make them even more expensive and this is how the gold versions came into being. Initially only thought of as a far off luxury, the gold versions have now become a common sight and have many prospective buyers. Now it’s finally Samsung Galaxy S6’s turn.

Those who want some extra sparkle to their already gorgeous looking Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge can get their phones gold plated with the courtesy of Karalux, the Vietnamese gold-plating shop. The two smartphones, which both have Corning Gorilla Glass 4 glass panels in the front and at the back, will be the latest addition to the company’s list of 24K gold plated smartphones. Of course the glass panels would be left out as they are and the gold treatment will be enjoyed by the metallic frame surrounding these panels.

The phone has to pass through ten stages before it can finally be converted into its gold version and the shop claims that the entire procedure is a 3 hour long ordeal. Now that you are spending so much money on a gold phone, you are entitled to some assurance that it wont corrode away easily. For this, the phone is going to get an extra covering of a nano layer which will protect the phone. in addition to the regular price of $685, you will have to pay $400 for the gold plating on your Galaxy S6.
