Quentin Alexander who is the finalist on American Idol had an argument with one of the judges and things got intense on the live show.
Things got a little heated on 15th April when Quentin had a little argument with Harry Connick Jr. on the stage. Quentin thought the situation was ‘whack’ as one of his two friends were about to be sent home packing.
Whereas Harry Connick Jr. was offended by Quentin’s sentiment towards other participants. Harry was really offended and he told Quentin that he was welcome to leave the show if he thought the situation was ‘whack’.
Harry believes that American Idol is being very generous with the participants. He believes that they are paying them huge sums of money so that they could gain this experience and for them to say this to the hand that is feeding them is really disrespectful.
Quentin said that he didn’t call the show ‘whack’ but he only called the situation ‘whack’ because two of the big talents were in danger of going home. Quentin reassured that he didn’t mean any disrespect to the competition.
Quentin sat down with the People magazine after the show. He said that in the moment he was just being a little honest. He said that he felt genuine emotion and it came pouring out. He said that two of the big vocalists were in danger of going home and that included his best friend Joey Cook.
Quentin also said that Harry’s comments weren’t right. He said that if Harry believed he was being rude, then being disrespectful back wasn’t the right move for the judge. Quentin also said that two wrongs don’t make a right.
Quentin said that he had no problem leaving the show and he could do it in a second. The only reason why he’s staying is because he is doing what he loves. And sometimes you have to sacrifice a little to get what you want. Eventually Quentin’s friend Joey Cook was eliminated after he landed in the bottom two along with Rayvon Owen.
